ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:
Key West International Jazz Festival celebrates this true American art form with an international representation. KWIJF brings a wealth of culture and musical talent to a spectacular and unique location for a weekend of pleasure and appreciation. In it's idyllic setting, the KWIJF gives the audience a chance to hear internationally renowned artists while sunning in the warmest winter climate in all of the United States with spectacular ocean views and legendary sunsets.

By day, the festival will take place outdoors in historic Key West, bringing together elements of the islands' old-world feel with its stunning natural beauty. At night, the hot action pact center of world famous Key West envelops the audience in its many styles of music in as many colorful bars, concert halls, theaters and cathedrals- all within a few short blocks of each other. A unique global cultural and musical event, the KWIJF signifies Key West’s entrance into the World Jazz Scene. Key West International Jazz will have a particularly strong emphasis on Caribbean, Latin and world influences along with traditional jazz elements.

ABOUT OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS:
The educational components of the Key West International Jazz Festival are funded and managed by the non-profit Key West International Jazz Foundation. The foundation will reflect the aesthetic and philosophical direction of Arturo O’Farrill, the Artistic and Educational Director of the KWJF. Arturo O’Farrill is the director of the Lincoln Center Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra and is widely regarded as one of the premier jazz educators in the world. The foundation will reach out to students young and old, locally and nationally for educational programs throughout the year. Our educational programs are likely to include summer and winter jazz camps, clinics, workshops and master classes for beginner through advanced students. Opportunities to apply for future programs and potential scholarships will be announced in the spring of 2005.
